Hi, Can anyone direct me to a super awesome coffee shop in the DC area? Preferably one that roasts on the spot.. I'm in the Chantilly area so one around here would be great also. Thanks!

The Costco in Arlington, VA roasts right in front of you and will gladly hand you the 2.5 lb bag of warm beans at $3.20/lb and pretty good. Their Seattle Mountain House Blend - "great for drip or espresso" is amoung 4 or 5 different blends they roast. Same goes for the Costco store in Sterling, VA but that one I cannot personally confirm. Eric S. Brew Mountain in Purcellville is fairly close to you http://brewmountain.com If you are going north try Loco Jonny's in Frederick http://www.locojonnys.com/ You can also hit coffeegeek.com and you'll find more. Kurt

They roast right in the store with a huge San Francisco roaster, very interesting to watch. Very nice people. Misha's Coffee House and Coffee Roaster 102 South Patrick Street Alexandria, VA 22314 Tel.: 703-548-4089 Perhaps too far for you to go, but to me, Hyperion in Fredericksburg is worth the trip (at least from Dumfries). Outstanding shots, but no roaster. Last time I asked they were using Vita for espresso. Hyperion Espresso 301 William St Fredericksburg, VA 22401 (540) 373-4882 Karl
