I've received mixed information on how often to backflush 'my' machine with Puro Caff. I use a Elektra Barlume VC at the shop where I work and I backflush the machine with water every night, but only backflush the machine with Puro Caff once a week. What's a good balance between keeping the machine clean and keeping it seasoned? Thanks, Joe

We found that we better backflush 2 or 3 times a day, depending on use, and puro cafe every night. If the night person doesn't do it my morning mood is very, very bad. This is for a small shop. If it is a machine shop with a nice espresso machine for employee use then that sounds like reasonable maintenance. If it is a coffee shop doing a good business, and it was my shop, I would be backflushing about once per hour (maybe twice depending on how busy it was) with water and once at the end of EVERY day with a cleaner. I would worry less about "seasoning" and more about what a breakdown due to a clogged or failed 3-way valve would cost in lost business.
