I have recently been given a Brasilia Lady which doesn't work. It heats up
OK and the steam wand works, but when you press brew the motor runs but
nothing comes out. I dismantled the 3 way valve and cleaned it up and I had
a good look at everything else and it seems OK. Any ideas.

cheers
Jas

You've done all the right things so far.
remove the dispersion screen, look under there. there will be one or
more holes.

using wire, probe the holes(s) removing gunk. if this part is
removable, pull it off too.

repeat the precedure, probing as far as possible. clean every thing -
reassemble.

get some Cleancaf and following the instructions cook some of that in
the machine, for 3 or 4 hours.

re-test. If it is still plugged the boiler will have to be torn down
and unclogged.

Does the three way valve click when you apply voltage? I wonder if the
coil could be fried.

Take the output hose off the pump, and see if it pumps water, If not,
a new pump; if yes, start hunting down the blockage.

Hi Jim
You are spot on with your diagnosis. There was nothing coming out of the
pump so I took it apart and found the outlet blocked. Clearing that has done
the trick. Many thanks.

I get lucky sometimes, especially when there's only a few spots that
can get blocked
