Subject: Francis Francis X1 filter holder question
|
Hi all, Can anyone with a Francis Francis X1 answer a question for me? I'm using it currently with ground espresso rather than the ESE pods. When using the filter holder made for the pods, the locked handle position is more or less dead-on straight in the middle. However, the basket filter holder can travel quite far to the right until a seal is achieved - is this normal?

Thanks for the confirmation. I tried the pod filter, I wasn't too impressed!

Your basically wedging the portafilter in place. As the metal wears down it will travel further to the right. The ese pod filter is thicker and so it doesn't go as far to the right. My handle ends up being about at the 4:30-5:00 position. And I'd just toss the pod adapter, I've never had an espresso from one that was any good. They are sorta drinkable the first day yuou open the package but go stale mighty quick. -bradk
