Need to replace my original Isomac Tea group gasket which im told is 8.5mm , the group handle has come loose a few times lately during a shot and has sneezed coffee grounds. The handle has always locked at 7 o'clock. One on line re-tailer says to buy a replacement 8.5mm gasket and another merchant says handle should lock at 6 o'clock and to use a 8mm gasket. Any advice on which size gasket to buy ? Thanks, WS

Either gasket should work. It doesn't matter where the handle locks. Just stop wherever it seals. Pushing the handle to some artificial "ideal" position will flatten out the gasket and shorten its life. Marshall

I've never considered whether the puck reached the screen or not. I'd focus on filling the basket to your personal taste and forget about the screen. Marshall

So i was thinking that with a smaller gasket and not sure how much difference the 8mm would make the overfilled filter basket would now touch the screen before say a 8.5mm gasket would since the filter basket fit deeper into the group. The little bit extra coffee i overdose the basket with seems to make a difference on my E-61 i would think with less coffee due to smaller gasket the shot would not be as rich. WS
