I'm planning to buy the well-reviewed Sunbeam EM0480. I note it has detachable portafilter holder brackets for 58mm and 53mm portafilters. My problem is that I use regularly two machines, one at 58mm, and the other at 53mm. Would I have to go through the bother of changing it each time, or would the 53mm sit within the 58mm bracket ? Hope someone out there can help....

Thanks Natalie and daveb ... sounds as if it'll do just fine. It's going to suit my new Sunbeam EM6910 and older but much loved Pavoni Professional just fine (I can see in the distance daveb shudder at that name .....) Thanks both for the advice

I have one, it's great- you'll love it. I regularly use it with a 58mm portafilter without either of the brackets, I just push the PF up against the microswitch. This is because I like to tap the portafilter on the excellent rubber mat it comes with to settle the grounds, and the bracket gets in the way. Tapping the portafilter causes leftover grounds to fall out of the grinder's nozzle- I like for this to happen so my next shot doesn't start off with stale grounds. It's possible to tap the PF in front of the bracket, but then the grounds fall on the mat instead of in the filter Without the bracket, I can tap & the grinds land in the PF. I don't have a 53mm PF, so can't test for you...
