In 1997 I was working as a musician at the International Can
Conference--I think that was the group's official name, and they
awarded the SPAM can "Can of the Year" Apparently people not only eat
it, they also spend a lot of time thinking about keting.

you got anything else b-n-b?

you seem conflicted regarding your name ......

I do NOT spam daily but whatever it is, is working, -- since I've sold

have cause to be excited!

your resentment is amusing to me.

Here in australia I thought SPAM was strictly a war-time thing, for
when genuine food was unavailable. But in fact I saw a stack of the
stuff in the local superket the other day. Does anyone still buy/eat
it?

Not only buy & eat it but every year there is a Spam carving contest in
Seattle, Washington. Personally, I always thought that said a lot about the
state of art in Seattle.

I believe that Hawaii has the highest consumption of SPAM in this
modern day<g >. Probably because of our time in WW2, but people buy
SPAM regularly. You can even get the local treat of a piece of spam,
wrapped in rice and then the outside is a layer of nori seaweed- so it
is a SPAM musubi or sushi. I think you can even get Spam at
McDonald's for a choice of break fast "meats". Spam is big here:)
although I don't buy it but Bob will grab one of those Spam musubis
for a quick lunch.

Take a can of Spam, slice it into three [or four] equal slices, microwave it
with some crushed pineapple and diced green peppers, and you have some great
sandwiches. I have some regularly when I am left to fend for myself.

Any of us who had WW2 parents have a favorite recipe:
Cut into 1/4" slices
grill 2 min 1 side
turn
add 1/8" slice onion
1/8" slice tomato
1/8" slice cheese
grill 1 minute. YUM!

We never ate it at home, but at Summer Boy Scout Camp it was a
regular lunch meat two or three times during the week. Some of it was
Spam-ish (an off brand substitute) but it is all about the same.
Sliced thin, fried, and used for a sandwich was the usually
preparation method. Just the site of the cans reminds me of two
things- Scouting and Monty Python.

Well.. three things, actually, one lunch I was preparing the meal,
opening a few cans for our group, and the contents of one can was..
LITERALLY, GREEN! No, we didn't eat it.

BTW- the gelatinous substance around the meat is just that- gelatin.
It is put there to help the meat slide more easily out of the can!

Since it's so difficult, I'll clarify:

My - name - is - not - Bob.

Yes, I read Jim's post. That does not negate your hypocritcal post
criticizing someone else for doing what you do on a daily basis. Even
your reply is spam. But then, you know that.
