Just wondering if this post made it through to alt.coffee. I figured it
would generate a bit of conversation at the least. Someone at least needs
to accuse me of SPAMMING the group ::::grin::::.

Where can you get ripe (red, not green) beans to roast?

Coffee beans aren't really beans, but seeds of the
coffee cherry... which isn't really a cherry, but it
resembles one.

All coffee is green before it's roasted...

except for some aged coffee which is more of a tan
color...

Red refers to the ripe coffee cherries. The beans inside are always greenish
brown. Of course, 'green' also refers to being raw. Dan
