Subject: I'm gettin' good at this roasting thing..
|
After about 3-4 yrs., I think i've got the hang of it. Lately (2.5 yrs.) I'm using the the I-Roast1. It's becoming more intuitive. I follow the guidelines (cracks, temps), but temper them with the experience gained in doing this over and over (cracks, color). I can say I get a reasonably consistent cup of coffee. My tastes have changed somewhat as well. I preferred the funkiest of coffees like Monsoon M, or Ethiopians. I still like generic Honduran as my staple. Specifically, Honduran cala. Its got body and it's chocolatey. I still don't get the other Central Americans like Guatamalan ( I can taste the water as an after taste). I use Sumatra M, Ethipian HH, Honduran Coarene, Nicaragua, Brasil MC (too bland). OK I'm still bouncing around a bit. Cheers
