Subject: Recommendations for a compact espresso machine
We have just bought a new flat in our home town and I would like an
espresso machine for the kitchen, which is quite small.

In our main house we have a Cimbali Junior, so I don't want to
compromise to much on quality, but size is an issue. Any
recommendations?

Vivaldi II is about 16 inches cube: 16 1/2" W16 1/2" D 15 1/4" H

vs "Junior" in name only: 12.6" 18.5" 17.25" (large)
and only 3 inches wider than plastic 'oscar'

both of which are HX machines and less desirable.

Not much to go on, like what size would you consider acceptable. Of the
new machines I believe the Nuova Simonelli has the smallest footprint
followed by the La Cimbali M21 Jr.

If you want a truly small footprint you might weant to look at the
lever models from Olympia, Ponte Vecchio, & Gensaco.

Good luck!

Definitely a good machine, but compact?

I wouldn't mind, but I think it would be difficult to sneak it past the
wife.
