Subject: Replacing pump & air release valve this weekend, anything to know?
As the subject says, I am going to be replacing the pump, and the "air
release valve" on my isomac millenium this weekend. Anything I should
know? It looks like if I'm willing to do some awkward hand movements
I can do it without taking too much of the machine apart. I'm not
sure what the air release valve does, but it's cheap and it's right
next to the pump, so why not?

The problem I'm trying to address is the pump getting vapor locked,
which sounds like it's due to a failing check valve. The description
of the air release valve sounds like it couldn't hurt, either.

Is this the expansion valve, or the vacuum breaker? I've replaced the
latter. I can order the former as well, it someone points me to the
correct part number.

I'm replacing the pump out of a lack of other ideas. Someone said
that there's an internal check valve that could cause some of my
symptoms, and the pump is about 7 years old so it didn't seem like a
big deal to replace it.

I'm getting vapor lock on my isomac TEA, it was suggested to replace the
valve that sits on top of the boiler in the plastic cup with the improved
one Chris coffee sells. Is this the same valve your replacing ?
