Bad steam tstat will cause this as well. Everything goes through the
steam tstat, whether the steam switch is on or off. If tstat fails in
open position (like your's probably has), no power to boiler, period.
I would buy both (they're cheap), but replace steam tstat first. Think
you will find replacing steam tstat alone fixes both problems.
