I use my Silvia machine only on weekends. Should I be storing the
water in its resevoir or emptying it each weekend and starting with

Why not just start with new. Empty at the end of the weekend, store
it dry outside the machine, inverted, and fill with fresh on your
return.
cost and effort is minimal, iz

If you have a clean source of water you should be able to store it in the
reservoir. Bottled water can remain standing for years. If OTOH, you sense
a bad smell or see algae growing, then I'd empty between uses.
