Ken Fox writes: > another case of life imitating bad television . . . . There are so many anecdotes about audiophile antics, stories about manufacturers, distributors, retailers, reviewers, and of course, consumers. Coincidentally, I just heard one earlier this month so ... My friend recently started selling products made by a French company for the part of his line that was British for a long time. He switched partly because the last time he sent an order to the British company's distributor, he was told that his order couldn't be filled because the manufacturer was reluctant to buy more faceplates. Of course, every audiophile knows that faceplate thickness is strongly correlated with performance :-) So, two-channel audio equipment is becoming historical not because consumers don't want it, but because the companies in that niche are mismanaged, undercapitalized, etc. Also coincidentally, I had dinner at a restaurant earlier this month and noticed that the background music (Coltrane) sounded clearer than usual. Their CD player had the fattest power cord I've ever seen, and an 8mm brushed aluminum faceplate! Hmm ... Felix

Is it possible to die from an overdose of irony? <sarcasmoff > Thanks for posting this. </sarcasmoff> I can see where the turntable experience came in handy in the development of this grinder. Is this what happens when a record player and drill press get locked in the shop overnight? Matthew
