I bought a small Kenwood electric kettle to heat water for coffee. It worked fast and was the right size and price, but I had to return it because it gave the water an outrageously strong and toxic-smelling molten plastic flavor. Does anyone know if the Bodum Mini-Ibis, also plastic, is good?

I've used the mini for travel for years, and the big one at least twice a day for 10 years (about) for my daily cups of coffee. I have no complaints. No smell, or plastic flavor, which would be worse.
