Christ! I've contributed the love of labor to this group in the past. I
haven't been around for a while, so what do I get? No answer to a simple
question about grinders.

Please. At least do people the service of answering all posts that are on
topic.

Regards

OK sorry for the late response, my pager was on the fritz and I didn't
realize you had posted...But I think I can solve your problems....
I'm gonna' need some pliers, and a set of 30 weight ball bearings (it's
all ball bearing nowadays) And I'm gonna' need about 10 quarts of
antifreeze, preferably Prestone. No, make that Quaker State.

I looked, and there is only one post from Coffee Buff, his rebuff of the group.
Is that right, CB?

I think it was this message:
------------------------------
Newsgroups: alt.coffee
Subject: Stale grounds from grinder

I have a dosing type grinder (Gaggia MDF} that's a workhorse to say
the least, but it has a horizontal shute that has to be brushed out at
each grind to avoid using stale grounds that would otherwise would be
pushed into the dosing chamber.

I've been looking at a single dose grinder made by Pasquini. Dose
anyone have knowlege of how completely that grinder dispenses the
grinds? Should I be looking at another unit?

Thanks

Based on the lack of comments on the Pasquini grinder here on this
group, I think the reason he got no replies because no one had the
answer. It could also be that it is a holiday weekend in the US and a
lot of folks might actually be with family or out of town and away
from the computer.

So, Dave... lighten up! Do a Google group search for Pasquini grinder,
and if nothing shows up then it is because no one has discussed it in
the last five years. maybe call a retailer and ask them about the
grinder and tell us the answer.

ME - Or get a small brush... I took the various protector bits out
of my MDX to allow a straight shot with a brush - takes 2 seconds
to clean the chute. Your time doesn't have to be worth much before
a 2 second sweep is a LOT cheaper than trying to find another
grinder.

Can't recall the turntable maker that makes the grinder where the
grinds fall straight down...

grinds hang up in that grinder, too.

Me again...
The grinder is the Versalab:
http://www.versalab.com/server/coffee/grinder.html
37 pounds
$1250

I use a cheap basting brush to clean out Rocky's chute and remaining
grinds in the doser. For $0.89 it works great. A lot cheaper than a
new grinder.

Another more affordable solution is to grind 5 or 10 beans first thing
in the AM and discard what comes out. The cost of a new grinder will
pay for a LOT of these clean-out beans.

WAAaaa! I am not obliged to offer any 'service' for you. Why not post on
alt.whiners or rec.crybabies instead.

Dan

PS: With an attitude like yours, I'm glad I didn't post something useful for
you.

Sorry, sorry, sorry! Please don't tell the boss. These complaints all
go into our file, and we get reminded at bonus time.

Being a volunteer providing free advice is a critically important job,
and we recognize that, if we're not on top of things, someone else
will jump in to volunteer their free advice, and then where will we
all be? Out of a job, that's what!

So, again, please accept my sincere apologies, whatever your question
was.

shall.

Didn't respond to first post because have no experience with
Tranquillo, but did consider it.

Love the M4 Step/Doser Less. It's not perfect. It keeps a fair amount
of coffee in the spout, so needs cleaning well after use. With unit
OFF, just tip it back about 1/4" and let fall forward, then brush out
remainder.

Didn't buy the Tranquillo because of too many niggles reported on the
web.

What question? There's no references header in your post, and no hint
in your posting regarding what the question might have been.

> At least do people the service of answering all posts that are on

Firstly, no-one is obligated to answer any posts.

Secondly, no-one is in a position to usefully answer every on-topic
post.

Thirdly, if everyone answered every on-topic post, the group would be
useless.

Since you've changed your name I have no idea what question you wanted
answering...

And anyway, it's impossible to answer a question just for the sake of
it. I answer all questions where I am able. If your question was
(guessing here...) about the Macap grinder (but question was only
posted 6 hours ago), then I couldn't answer since I have no experience
of the grinder, but I *did* a Google search and found that ChrisCoffee
sells it, and it was sold without micro adjustment in earlier versions.

I don't have experience of the Tranquilo either (I doubt many here
have experience of both grinders) so can't comment.

If your query relates to another grinder question that you've asked
using a different name, please point to it...
