Subject: Will someone help me put a PID on my Melitta?

I bought this machine from a guy in Loosiana who used to have a
restraunt there in the French Quarter. It's a great big machine with a
Melitta label on the front and a triangel label on the back that says
EGRO Serie 70, Made in Switzerland. The guy I bought it from said it
was in the huricane and got wet but it used to work perfectly. When I
turn it on it don't heat up like its sopposed to. I had a appliance
mechanic look at it and he said it was a broke electronic regulator
for the hot water tank. He said if I wanted he could get me a new one
for about $500 but all I need do is wire in a PID to do the same
thing. I figure thats the way to go for sure and because he is so
st I figured to have my son learn how to do this for us. I want
someone to tell me where we can learn all about these here PID things
so we can get this thing working.

Current Egro distributor is Rancilio USA. They amalgamated with Egro just
before last year's SCAA.
