I'm missing a contractor. The one that has been v-e-r-y slowly putting together our bakery. The walk-in freezer is up and running but he needs to tweak the set points. The new tile floor is layed but he needs to finish up with the sheets of washable wallboard and install the cove base. The new and improved wet fire suppression system is installed but he needs to make the tie-in to the HVAC. The three-compartment sink is sitting in the middle of the room and needs to be installed after he has the water lines run. As well as the handwash sink. As well as the vegetable sink. They delivered the 40gallon Davrick bagel boiler yesterday. As the guy was coming down with the liftgate and exclaiming how heavy that thing is I was seized with the thought that I hadn't measured to see if it would fit through the door. Whew. The good Lord must like bagels 'cause it fit easily. The equipment guy in El Paso called to say the new rollers and conveyor belts were in and being installed on the bagel cutter and former machines. The baker called and said she is okay with the schedule but is looking forward to not having to drive 160 miles roundtrip to bake for her local catering business. The newly opened european grill and the not-quite-as-new italian place are both asking when the wholesale gelato will be available. The only one who hasn't called is the contractor. If you see him tell him those bagels won't boil themselves. Bernie

He used your money to pay for it and after one night, we knew that we were in love. We are both on a flight to Fuji as I type these words. He wanted me to tell you he is sorry, but this was unexpected and even his wife and children don't know. Could you please tell them? Bernie, please try and understand and if it had not been for you, he would not have been in that area and he and I would never have met. Please know that as long as we both shall live (together), we will fondly remember you as our own "cupid." Mark Ferrante

Bernie, no problem. Call ICE and ask when Julio will be released. If they say he's being deported, just do what every other self-respecting American businessman would do. Drive to your nearest Home Depot and get another contractor. Sheesh, do I have to tell you everything?
