I usually only get the Mocha at Starbucks, which I like, but tried the CM the other day and it had about half the taste as the Mocha drink. Did I get a bad one or something? This is a decent home brew recipe, which is neither Mocha or CM: Mocha pot [the 'screwtop' Mocha] coffee with Kroger or 8 o'clock Italian Roast coffee. 8th Continent Vanilla Soy Milk Hershey's Choc Syrup. Combine using allocations as desired. Or use equal amounts coffee and hot soy milk, and about a tablespoon syrup. Great. itchy

<snip > > Actually I think that is my position, some concoctions merely > have coffee as an ingredient, and are 'candy' with a jolt of > caffeine. Hence the 'alt' in alt.coffee I guess. <snip > Alt is a category.. Coffee is a sub-category. Alt is not a sub- category of Coffee. You have it backwards. Everyone here is a serious coffee snob with a massive ego and bad social skills... at least that's what I can tell from it. Some people here are actually much more polite on other coffee forums. It's e-proof of the "bad people are a product of their environment" theory, I suppose. There are places who would care about such recipes, but a coffee newsgroup or forum just isn't one of them. Recipes like that are more for the foodies, even though most of us coffee people can't for the life of us understand why coffee is given such a back seat in the foodie community. I hope that helps you to understand the responses you've received, and hopefully somewhere to go where this sort of a thing would be welcomed with open arms.

Hmmmph! I'd argue, but I'm too busy admiring my last crema-filled shot...which I'll drink without sugar. North Sullivan (burp)

Hence the 'alt' in alt.coffee I guess. For instance, a hershey bar is much more sweet than the moka/milk/caramel mixture, but most people like them anyway. itchy

No need to feel personally attacked, itchy. It just sounds nauseatingly sweet and sticky. Candy is candy and coffee is coffee. itchyneebanshee@hotmail.com wrote: > hazchem wrote: > > ewwww! is the coffee that bad that you need to abuse it with all this > > sugar and flavouring? > > Oh I didn't know that I was dealing with a coffee 'fascist'. > > itchy
