Subject: A couple tastings & new toys on the way

I just finished tasting two of my newest fresh roasted coffees.

Willoughby's FTO Harar - Initially I had reported tasting this right
after roasting and mentioning that the noted blueberry nuance was
missing. What a difference a couple days make! Thanks to some here, I
let it rest for 2 days and the dried blueberry taste is definitely in
there. Nice bold and bright cup, quite delicious.

Sweetmarias Mexico Organic Oaxaca Finca El Olivo - roasted to a city
level, rested 24 hours. A very delicious cup of coffee. Bold and
smooth as silk. Remember how good the coffee aisle smells when someone
is grinding coffee? Well the taste reminded me of that excellent smell.
This is the first coffee to do that.

Both cups were double-shot brews pulled to 5 oz cups for a cafe crema.
I drink sweet and light, meaning for me, a scant 1/4 tsp sugar and a
dollop of top cream.

Still to taste is Sweetmarias Harar Green Stripe. I just got this in
the mail today. Roasted to a City+ and will be ready for tasting
Saturday or Sunday.

New toys :

1st in line is the Grindenstein. How can you have good coffee without a
good way to dispose of the used puck? Should be here any day now.

2nd is a different roaster. I am doing some lighter roasts and am
looking for a different roast profile, so I got a Zach & Dani's on the
way. My readings on this indicate that it is better at lighter roasts
than is the FreshRoast. I'll report back on this when I have some
definitive testing done. Didn't hurt that I got a demo machine for a
bit less than retail.
