Subject: Aussie alties, anyone know of Ambrosia beans from Canberra?

I have the pleasure since moving to Australia, of spending the past few
months just outside the town of Berry, NSW, before we iultimately settle in
Sydney. One of the highlights is the wood-fired sourdough bakery, which
also takes its coffee very seriously. The owner does a great trade and they
get their beans a couple times a week from a roaster in Canberra. They're
excellent, but doing a google, I couldn't find any info on the roaster.

The label on the beans is marked Ambrosia, sedaitis concessions pty ltd. I
was wondering if any of the Aussie alties have come across them and have
more info.

Once the Giotto comes out of storage, I'll be contacting them quick smart to
order beans.

Gus

Gus, I don't know the beans you speak of, but I have seen someone on
another forum who might -

http://www.cosmorexcoffee.com.au/home.htm

cosmorex are a roaster in Fyshwick. I came across them posting as
'Fresh_Coffee' on the coffesnobs.com.au forums. I'd bet if there was
another roaster in Canberra, they'd know about them. Personally, I get
my beans from Toby's Estate and Single Origin.

Have a potato pie from Berry pie shop for me, and the home made baked
beans from the bakery!

Hi Gus,

I live in Sydney and I buy my beans from Sienna Coffee.

They have a great range and they deliver free in Sydney. Mine arrive the
next day after I order which is also the next day after roasting.

Check them out

I find their Esspresso Blue at $20.00/kg suits my taste. It comes in two
500g sealed foil bags.

Worth a try!

Cheers,
Rusty

nope.

I'm in Adelaide and my favourite beans are from Rio Coffee also
roasting out of Adelaide.
http://www.riocoffee.com.au/ (has some contact details)

They provide beans to a lot of cafes in Adelaide including CIBO (which
is probably the most popular cafe chain in Adelaide).

I like the "espresso" blend. $6.50 for 250 grams (thats the price if
you buy direct).

I really recommend you try a bag.

For the Sydney-siders, you can taste Rio beans at Mecca Espresso Bar on
the corner of King and York Sts in Sydney (beans roasted by Rio, blended
by Paul and Alex at Mecca)

big (no clues on the Ambrosia/Canberra question though, sorry...)

Try an asic search under the company name. It should give you directors names
and contact details.

Hi Fraser - not so much interested in the company structure and directors,
but whether anyone knows of the company first-hand and experience/background
on them. Nothing like first-hand knowledge. I'm also surprised that its so
hard to find more info on someone who (in my experience) produces such good
roasts!
