Subject: Best coffee on the SF peninsula?

What is the best coffee cafe on the SF peninsula, between Barefoot Roasters (San Jose/Santa Clara, off 280 at Stevens Creek) and Ritual (SF on Valencia in the Mission district)? I'm currently located about mid-way between those two and neither are very convenient for me to patronize on a regular basis. When I lived in Mountain View, I used to go to Dana Street Coffee Roasting Company (on Dana, just off Castro). I also enjoy Mission City (in Santa Clara on The Alameda just off of 880). But frankly neither of these places is up to Ritual or Barefoot's quality. Both hire people to sell things and "make coffee" as opposed to hiring baristas who are passionate about making great coffee. jc -- "The nice thing about a mare is you get to ride a lot of different horses without having to own that many." ~ Eileen Morgan of The Mare's Nest, PA
