Subject: Best double basket for Gaggia Classic?
|
I recently acquired two used machines: a Gaggia Classic Gold and an older Gaggia Coffee (thanks to David Ross for identifying them). Between the two of them, they only have one aluminum portafilter and one single basket. So, I'm off to buy one brass portafilter and two double baskets. Any suggestions? (BTW, when I got it, the Classic was well clogged with coffee residue, probably lots of scale, and the steamer was clogged with milk. Compared with the 5 used espresso machines I have cleaned so far, the Classic had, by far, the most coffee residue. I cleared it with an initial run through of Cleancaf, followed by repeated backflushings with Cafiza. I can't imagine getting that machine working without either extensive backflushing or disassembly and cleaning.)
