for my Gaggia Baby?

Or should I order a different kind of pump, and if I did that, would all the
electric contacts be the same? I worry about that, because I just bought a
replacement power button for the Baby, and the contacts were different, and
when I pressed it in, it blew the fuse. Without directions, and without the
ability to just detach the old one, and hook up the new one the same, I'm
afraid I'll be lost.

Also, would you have to alter the machine to attach a different pump?

It's nice to buy Gaggia parts from a dealer who is familiar with the
differences between the various "Baby" models. David used to recommend
Electra-Craft, and they were very helpful when I phoned them:
http://electra-craft.com/repairs.htm

I had a Baby with a broken switch assembly, and an aftermarket alarm
circuit. The switch they sold me was a little different, but they gave
me a schematic and some encouragement ... one of my friends uses that
machine everyday now.

Nothing wrong with that :-) You can photograph yours before ordering
its replacement. You have to disconnect/remove it anyway ... You can
also look at these photos and maybe exercise your repair skills:

Hey Dave,

I emailed you a couple of times at your gmail and aol addresses, but haven't
heard back. I tried the phone number you posted, but I get a message that
says "invalid telephone number." If you still want to sell me a pump, email
me.

Is it the equivalent of an 800 number? Maybe that's why it doesn't work
with my calling card.

Dunno, but it must be. I'm in Toronto. Ontario, Canada & called from my
landline. I also tried using my broadband SIP voip phone & my Skype
phone & no problem. I heard a change in tone of the ringing as it
switched/transferred to a possibly switched forwarding system to an
answering machine.

I think in your situation I'd probably call Home Espresso Repair in
Seattle. They're at <http://www.espressorepair.com/ >, and I've found
Will to be quite knowledgeable about that class of machine.

It doesn't really matter since the pumps are interchaneable. I'd order one
from either http://www.cafeparts.com/ or https://www.shop.partsguru.com/.
No trying to connect with someone who's too busy to return calls & their
prices are good.

I don't have any better recommendations for sources, but something is screwy
about the pricing of these pumps. On a good day you can buy a whole low end
espresso machine (such as a Mr. Coffee) for what they charge for these
replacement pumps. You could buy the machine, remove the pump (which is
identical) and toss the rest and still come out ahead. I dunno who is guilty
of marking these things up, but these are $15 parts that are being sold for
$50+.

I wonder BTW if you contact Mr. Coffee service for a replacment pump what
they would charge?

Son you seem a bit confused! All too many vendors don't return calls & if
you recognize yourself in that group please believe me when I say that was
not my intent. Now that I've had a few days to review your posts I'm not at
all sure that your self-proclaimed conversion is for real. You've gone from
being outright nasty to passively aggressive, but the negative & defensive
content remains.

No, actually the 'bub' was more derogatory rather than patronizing. Sort of
like bubble-butt, doofus, wussy, etc. One never knows which one will get hit
in the head when you toss a brick at a gaggle of geese; you just hope the
one you were aiming at stands up & takes one for the team.

Who would've ever thought the caffeine junkies were so sensitive?
