Subject: Bicycling in the Netherlands with 5 + kgs of great Beans on my back

I just came back from a great trip to the Netherlands and Germany...and
must say that the highlight of my trip, coffeewise, was not in the
brew, which was generally....better not said.

My thanks to Ivo Van Putten and his wife, Vivian the Roaster, for
hosting me at their place in the farming village of Lieren, just a 30
minute bike ride out of the town of Apeldoorn (where i spent the night
so I could also get to the fantastic Kroller-Muller Museum in the
nearby national park.

The visit with the Van Puttens started with a coupla shots of some
special single origins, moved on to some coffee talk, etc (Ivo has been
a coffee broker for years..(many;-) and has visited the coffee growing
regions)....and finished with my purchase of 5 + kgs of beans from his
selection

I had a real sense of satisfaction biking Northward alongside the
canal, a Dutch bridge on one side...cows, ducks on the other...and 5 +
kgs of high quality stash firmly pressing against my back...

Now...off to the Iroast..(with the extra chaff collector cover Ivo was
kind enough to give me..so I can do some experimenting to lengthen my
roast times.)

Best, myron
