On my recent trip to Vancouver, BC (in addition to drinking 450 espressos at
the Elysian Room), I passed through Seattle and hit a couple of old faves
(nothing new good to report there) plus Schomer's new place on Yale,
opposite the REI. It is an impressive space. Even more impressive, David
Schomer has the services, at least for awhile, of USBC champion Bronwen
Serna (formerly of Hines) during some shifts there.

I'm not a huge fan of David Schomer's blends, but if anyone can make a great
shot from them it is Bronwen. She made me a perfect Macchiato on Saturday
(the 10th), that was so good I took another one even though it was my 4th or
5th double in a couple of hours. Count me as a fan. Any Seattle area
alties or others passing through the area should consider calling the cafe
and finding out when Bronwen's next shift will be, then going there for the
magic.
