Is great! I just stopped in for the first time today. I work in the
neighborhood and have walked past for the last couple weeks it's been
open and finally made it in today. So if any of you guys are in the
village go check them out.

Hey Mike.
It's a cool shop, it's got a nice vibe and it's always full when i go
past during the day so that's really cool to see. I still have to get
out and see you guys, maybe next week some afternoon.

That's good news. The guy running the place is from Albina Press in
Portland, the home of the new Northwest Barista Champ, Billy Wilson.
He definitely knows his stuff. I'll try to make it out myself in the
coming weeks.

Damn, I was so near there this afternoon, too, at the W4th St. subway
station. My favorite coffee shop, Ninth Street Espresso, has been a bit
disappointing lately. I wouldn't say it's gone down hill, but ever
since the latest New York Times story, they have just been too busy to
be friendly, answer questions, etc. And when I bought beans there a
couple days ago, I didn't realize until later that they were ALREADY 8
days old!

Finally made the journey and it was well worth the trip. Dan knows his
stuff and is representing Intelligentsia proudly. He's rockin the 3
group Synesso/Robur combo and rockin them well. If you're in the
neighborhood, this is the place for great shots. Congrats Dan.

magnet-ed to the top of the French Press (and one hardly needs being
told the right time to stop brewing is after four minutes).
Still amazed how few places there still are to get genuine coffee in
Manhattan despite that island's pre-emninence in so many other areas.
Worthy shops such as 9th St. Espresso and Joe the Art of Coffee should
only welcome the broadening of this market.
They just started offering a food menu, are open 7-7 M-F and
7-midnight SaSu -- with probable extension of the later hours to the
weekdays.
