Subject: Capresso C3000 Blockage -- Repair Ideas

I understand most posts to this are not for automatic espresso
makers..... But,

I've been looking for a manual for quite sometime that will give me
instructions or the
parts drawing for a Capresso C3000 that belongs to my wife's bed and
breakfast
employer.

It has 40 cups on it -- it is dead -- it will gind and tamp the coffee
but will not infuse w/
H2O. As far as I can tell on the internet these capresso automatic
units appear to be
junk and have a major problem with scale buildup on internal lines that
falls off causes
a pressure blockage to the head.

The repair is a $150 charge to Capresso and they return the unit. Some
sites have
stated that you risk this problem each time you move the unit -- which
would be often
since it needs to be filled w/ H2O.

Her employer won't pay to fix it -- Its only purpose now is a boat
anchor. I'd like to
open it up and look for the line blockage.

Is this a mistake? Will I kill it forever as I'm sure Capresso has
some seal that will be
broken indicating it has been opened. I'm not overly worried as it is
out of warranty,
but they may wake up one morning and want to part with the $$ to fix.

Any help would be appreciated -- eventhough this is a lazy man's
espresso -- it would
likely be better than my Bialetti Moka and hold me over until I have
some extra $$ for
a better unit.

Thanks in advance,

JW

It may or may not be a blockage.

but open it up and blow out the lines with compressed air, since there
is no warranty to void.

And the problem MAY recur. I would not expect a good outcome.

These sold for $2000, $150 is not bad for a repair fee.
