Subject: Changing burrs on a Gaggia grinder

Has anyone any experience of replacing the burrs on a Gaggia grinder?

Mine are getting a little blunt, and could do with new ones.

Which one?

Generally speaking the procedure is to spin the burr carrier out of its
threads and then the top and bottom burrs are each held on by 3 screws.
IIRC, the MDF may have some kind of caps over some of the screws that need
to be removed to access the actual screw heads. You may need to scrape the
gunk out of the slots in the screws in order to get a good grip with the
screwdriver. While it is all apart take the opportunity to clean everything
well.

To reinstall, after replacing the burrs you spin the carrier on with the
motor running. As soon as you hear a metal on metal sound, you have reached
the "zero point" where the burrs are touching each other. Back off from
there to get your grind dialed in.
