I have recently bought a used Cimbali Junior/D. I would like to know if there is a way to find out by the serial number exactly when this machine was made. Ken Fox if you are out there, I am the person you met in Vancouver when I was buying my machine. Hope to see you this summer. Gerry

Hi Ken glad you made it back to Boise alright. Were you driving? I am enjoying this new Junior immensly and the quality it outputs far exceeds the old hand lever commercial machine I had previously. If I am in your area when I am returning from the motorcycle trip I have planned this summer I will be sure to call you and check out your Cimbali. Reading thru some of your postings I see that you have a love for photography. I also do and have worked as a photo journalist for a number of years. I shoot all black and white and own 3 Leica M6 bodies and three leica lenses. Have had many exhibitions in the Vancouver area and just recently in SFO. Take care and will call if I am around your area. Hi Gerry, I used to shoot only black and white when I was a kid and had a darkroom; now with digital you have to do it differently:-) Yes, I did drive on this trip. It will end up being around 1800 miles when it is finished, and I've had about enough of it. Fortunately, only 2.5 hours left of driving await me. Take care and hope to see you this summer. ken <hillarystep@dccnet.com > wrote in message news:1150087322.964799.229710@h76g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > Hi Ken glad you made it back to Boise alright. From looking at it I can say that it is of the same vintage as the pourover I still own and have modified with electronic temperature control and a light to indicate when the heating element comes on: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v429/kfoxfoie/?action=view¤t=S1PIDwithElementLight.jpg This machine is 10 years old and this type of Junior, the twin of your Junior could probably have been manufactured anywhere from 4 years ago to as long as 20 years ago, although minor cosmetic differences in things like the plastic steam knobs could date it more precisely assuming those are all OEM. From a practical standpoint it doesn't matter since there weren't many substantive changes over the period these versions were made and Bravo has replaced the parts that regularly wear out. Your boiler and heat exchanger will outlast the both of us. Hope to see you too, this summer! ken

Nope only label on the electronics box is a warning label not to open contents under pressure. The serial number doesn't indicate manufacture date, but is usually on the label on the electronics box, which as I recall, is under the drip tray....al On 11 Jun 2006 13:06:27 -0700, "hillarystep@dccnet.com" <hillarystep@dccnet.com > wrote: >I have recently bought a used Cimbali Junior/D.
