Subject: DaVinci, Anyone?

For years I've been a minor distributor for DaVinci syrups. A not bad product at all. It was nice to rep a small company from up in the NW that had a distinct product that could distinguish a mom n pop shop from others who bought their syrups from the mega food truck distributors. Not so anymore. They were bought out some time ago by Kerry Food Service. They have now opted to offer the syrups via Sam's club, at least in my market. So I'm the lucky distributor with one room of a warehouse full of DaVinci syrup for the upcoming season. Problem is that my customers can buy it a hell of a lot cheaper at Sam's. I've made the call to see how to go about returning about 5000lbs of product. Now that we have commoditized roasters, specialty coffees, syrups, (milk was always commoditized), and all the rest of the accoutrements of this business it may be time to find a McJob with bennies.
