Cool Australian idea. Save time and transmit your order ahead. But, I
don't think the smartphone technology is widely used in the U.S. yet.

I thought a while back about doing a similar thing here in Sorrento Valley ,
the high tech area in San Diego but never got past the concept stage which
included internet ordering as Sorrento Valley is full of geeks locked onto
monitors and with only enough time to walk down to the front door for a
break.

Hadn't thought about it until just now but I'll bet you could also use text
messaging to do this...now there's an opening for someone.

Thanks for the link Marshall

Thanks Marshall, I needed a pick-me-up this morning. ;)

Most folks are too hesitant to try new things, especially if the idea
didn't come from an outside "expert". The numbers make it apparent that
these guys took a good idea & ran with it.

Someone suggested we do call in orders to the espresso drive throughs. It
sounded great until I figured in the cost of an extra employee to take
phone orders & the degradation of quality that would happen to a drink
setting on a counter for ten minutes (uugh!).

A touch-screen application that could be mounted beside the drive lanes
would be a huge improvement for applications where the customer does not
actually enter the premises. Maybe even have a credit card swipe included?

We've always accepted phone or text orders. Bluetooth is great - take
an order whilst pulling shots (or washing up)...

Thanks Danny, I'll have someone look into it. BTW, someone once mentioned
your prowess with an accordian. How about posting some audio or video
snippets of your playing?

I can assure you that my prowess is nothing to boast about. I started
busking knowing about roughly approximately nearly 2 tunes. I made
another 2 up. When I realised the money making potential I stood in
front of the mirror and eventually learnt enough to play for a couple
of hours without repetition. I don't have a patch on decent
accordianists (whom I'm extremely jealous of), although I have
"composed" a few ditties that sound not too bad, but they aren't
"duelling banjo's" calibre... I sound great if there isn't anyone
around who can actually play the accordian :)

I'll see if I can technically record something and put it on my site...

Dave, grow up.

You might find that people treat others as they are treated themselves
by others.
