Wow! I'm impressed with this machine. Heavy and definitely industrial
grade build.

I have my Gaggia MDF set to 5 and here is the result:

Double shots - fantastic! Good solid flavor, tiger stripe crema. Damn
near as good as the pictures I've seen of good pours.

Single shots - here it was hit or miss. I got a pod filter and just
pitched it together with the ones that came with Sylvia.

One of them is the same size as the double with a smaller set of hole,
the other is dual-tapered with a yet smaller set of holes.

I can get a good single shot out of the double-tapered one with the
pods, and it seems to be slightly different, dull metal, vice the
shinier double-shot.

The other one produces a good single shot if I pull more than a single
pull. I had read somewhere that singles were a PITA, maybe that is all
I am seeing.

Frothing - I had worried about this as other machines all have froth
aids and I'd not used just the steam wand. Turns out it is a piece of
cake. First run was just fine.

Right now I'm drinking a double shot pull as a 5 oz crema. Fantastic!
Not sour, not more bitter than it should be.

All in all, I think I'll keep this.

So I need to give Sylvia a last name. In keeping with the Rancilio
grinder being named Rocky, I think I'll name here Sylvia Bullwinkle! ;-)

It comes from a twisted sense of humor...

Also from wrong spelling of Silvia :-)

Cheers,
