Having just won one on Ebay : <http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=003&item=130016809300 > I need to find out about the auto fill. Since it has the 2nd panel insert (on the left), I assume it's an autofill, but I'd like to know if it's like the Cimbali (6 dose), or the more traditional "fill until full" version, that I don't favour. Anyone know, since I can't find anything about it on the 'net... Thought I had it for £77 but someone sniped at the last minute... -- Regards, Danny http://www.gaggia-espresso.com (a purely hobby site) http://www.malabargold.co.uk (UK/EU ordering for Malabar Gold blend)

OK ..a just ground comment, via phone, from the George Yaxley, (Master Barista!), at Gaggia Norwich - (I can't afford such posh machines) - is that the autofill will top-up the doser hopper as needed - or until the little switch reaches it's setting? There is a white button (on the right) that you can press for an individual portion grind. The 'opus' doser of the ground coffee hopper has six compartments as, I guess, your Cimbali but unlike my, (much cheaper!), Cunill C-T1, which has eight.. ;)) Dunno if this helps answer your question..? > Thought I had it for £77 but someone sniped at the last minute... ..and still an absolute snip at the price. Gaggai apparently sell refurbished MD64s at around 300.00gbp... As for 'taste' - yes, I've used Gaggia Norwich's (new) MD64 and, well, it certainly tickles the taste buds very acceptably.. hh... :)) Bill ZFC -- Adoption InterLink UK with -=- http://www.billsimpson.com/ Domain Host Orpheus Internet -=- http://www.orpheusinternet.co.uk/

Thanks Bill. I was wondering if it just kept the doser partially full rather than completely, like the Cimbali Cadet does. I've found the PDF manual, and in broken English it suggests that it actually does grind every 6 doses. > > >>Thought I had it for £77 but someone sniped at the last minute... > > > ..and still an absolute snip at the price. Even comes with a spare set of burrs and a spare grounds tray. > > As for 'taste' - yes, I've used Gaggia Norwich's (new) > MD64 and, well, it certainly tickles the taste buds > very acceptably.. Thanks. Looking forward to playing with it at home, as a backup for the trailer. Not that I need to, what with a Rossi RR45, Compak K5, Cunill Brazil - but I really like the partial auto on the Cadet. -- Regards, Danny http://www.gaggia-espresso.com (a purely hobby site) http://www.malabargold.co.uk (UK/EU ordering for Malabar Gold blend)
