Ok, I got the Starbucks Barista grinder after all. I've just never gotten into espresso, and don't know if I ever will, so I figured I'd just get a good one for coffee. The Barista Burr Grinder was on sale for $89 so I picked one up Wednesday. Along with the Technivorm, I get absolutely excellent coffee now. My favorite has been Starbucks Sulawesi but I've been thinking of what people have said here, about fresh roasted beans. I don't know how long it takes Starbucks to get their beans from the roaster to the stores, or how long they sit there before being sold. Maybe 2-4 weeks? But someone said that beans start losing flavor within a week after roasting. So today I went over to The Village Roaster here. They roast 3 times a week on M, W and F. They had a Sulawesi of their own, so I bought 1/4 lb of it to try. Excellent! If this one sets my new level for a "10", I'd have to say that the Starbucks Sulawesi is a "9" now. And these fresh roasted beans cost less too. I think Starbucks Sulawesi is around $12.50 a lb. These are around $9.50 a lb. Of course these guys probably aren't spending that other $3 a lb on socialist correctness. Good stuff! -- Coffee Lover http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Coffee_/ http://pleasehelpjennifer.com/
