Probably worth trying once, if only to know just where to place it in the little house of horrors. ;-) Although it's easy to deprecate anything but fresh coffee, to some extent I do respect people working on solutions to common problems such as this product's apparent market. Backpacking and the like. Still, if I were backpacking, I'd consider doing that "last grind" in the car with an inverter before hitting the trail, and seal it in small packets before setting off. Not fresh-ground, but probably better than old extraction. If anyone tries it, by all means report in!

That stuff would be excellent for ice-cream/gelato, candies, patery, and all sorts of applications. I'd lump it in the same category as toddy. Which reminds me, it's time to shake up the experiment. Got some Vodka and ground coffee sitting in a jar in the garage. Two more weeks... :) It was oldish *$ beans, not the delicious Kona that's currently ..er.. was currently in my coffee mug. :D -- DougW
