Yes, they got it right this time (except for elevating Heather from
U.S. to World Champion). The article includes a few spots I haven't
been to yet.

I'm sorry if I sounded negative, didn't wanna criticize the article.

The first picture I saw was Mark's Caffe Luxxe, which I like a lot.
Probably my favorite place. Since I just moved to LA, I don't really
know that many.

My bad. They don't just have one article. Almost the entire 10/25 Food
Section is devoted to coffee. And they get it right. Lots of stuff on
local roasters (the best ones), coffee history, coffee history in
L.A., even a great Russ Parsons piece on how an espresso person learns
to brew a cup of coffee. Several alties met Russ at the first SCAA
Homecoming, where he was doing a story on Heather Perry.

Actually, now that I remember, Russ used to post here. I think this is
where he learned about Supreme Bean, which he mentions in his article.

I saw Zona Rosa mentioned in that article. I've just been there and
ordered a double espresso and told the barista to pull a short one, he
was like "ah, ok, you mean a ristretto" and then he pulled a 4 oz shot
with ZERO crema...it was more amusing than frustrating actually

That's one of the ones I've never been to, even though my office is in
Pasadena. There was no reason. Jones Coffee is very good.

Just out of curiousity, the article described 9 cafes. Do you have
anything good to say about any of them?

I have coffee at Caffe Luxxe a couple of times a week and the article
has had a visible impact on Mark's business, very good news indeed!

It's nice to see various press on "third wave" coffee happening around
the country (NY Times article about NY cafes last month, now the LA
Times). Congrats, all.

Per the Times article (and my last three visits), I think it's time to
add Jones Coffee Roasters in Pasadena to your espresso bar list.
