Subject: Local access to distant roasters


At the risk of beating a dead horse, I note this report in the Ithaca
Journal. Gimme (profiled in this week's NY Times) has seen its
wholesale business grow to such an extent that they are moving their
roasting facility to a nearby village. According to the Journal, their
coffee shop and restaurant customers range as far as Burmuda. So,
again, if you don't have a good local roaster, it can be worthwhile to
find out where your local shops get their beans (and when).

beans...
