I don't know for a fact who is creating new posts designed to look like I am
the author. But I do have a very good idea based on the writing style
(rather, the lack of any style at all - probably a Jr. High drop out).
Assuming that I'm right I plan on meeting this low-life at the next coffee
convention/show. I plan to break one arm & possibly a collar-bone, then I'll
put the boot to him. I hope I'm not wrong about the ID (a good ass kicking
is a terrible thing to waste), but if I am then all I can say is that this
person needs to be taught some manners anyway. I'll be seeing you sucker.

A former professor at a prestigious left-coast university was terminated
because someone stole his ID, logged into the Farm's network & sent
harassing email to several female students. This professor was a very dear
friend to my wife & me. Besides costing him his tenure, bankruptcy, &
unnecessary personal grief, it also cost the university the finest
humanities professor I've ever known.

There is nothing that makes me madder than seeing the same threat aimed at
me, or another makes no difference. To those of you willing to believe the
worst of others all I will add to what I've already posted is, SHAME ON YOU!
By your careless response to this sad individuals cry for help you've just
encouraged him to continue his behavior.

You seem to see this as the crime of the century.

If this individual was trying to fake your posts, then why has he used a
return email address completely different from yours? Your return address
is below. The person posting as "Robert Hermon" claims to be posting from
something called "news3.newsguy.com" whatever that is.

If someone was trying to convincingly fake your posts, he'd have put more
effort into this than he has.

p.s. your gratuitous insults are not appreciated.

I didn't say this asshole was all that bright!

You are more than eager to condemn me for a post I didn't generate and I'm
supposed to care what you appreciate, right Ken? The person trying to
impersonate me is a sad & probably impotent man; but people who'll give
them the recognition they so desperatley seek are even sadder. You're not
even aware that you're being manipulated by him are you? Face it, you
fucked up & when you were called on it you responded by lashing out at me.
Have you taken a good look in the mirror lately? Do you like what you see?

Let's assume for the moment that we have a malicious individual here who is
impersonating you on this ng, rather than someone who just has a similar
name. Those of us who have been here longer than you can remember this sort
of thing happening on more than one occasion. The way you have reacted to
it ensures that this said malicious person is rolling on the floor in
hysterical laughter. You have provided him or her with every degree of
satisfaction he seeks (and more).

This leads me to believe that the best thing you could do at this point
would be to go to sleep and hopefully wake up in a frame of mind a bit more
conducive to dealing with this situation.

It's going great! The espresso has been pretty good here lately, too.
However, I think I must have managed to get myself included in everyone's
kill file because I haven't received any replies to my grinder problem :-)

BTW, when do you start getting Fall colors up there?

Gosh, you got Randy to respond! I've read a few posts that suggest that the
burrs in the MM don't last that long; as I recall, Rene in NZ made that
comment. I have no experience with that grinder but I would point out that
the diameter of the burr set is related to its longevity and the diameter of
a MM (is it 56 or 58mm, I forget?) isn't that large.

The real question is whether we will be able to SEE the fall colors. This
has been the worst summer for forest fires in this area, ever. We could
barely see the mountains during the last 2 days, so I hope that if there are
any trees left that aren't burned down and if there isn't too much smoke
maybe we'll start to see the colors in another couple of weeks.

Best,

ken

You know, I've always wondered if the burrs in my grinder were maybe damaged
before I got it. Maybe I'll change them just to see if it makes any
difference.

Too bad about the fires. I do know about smoke. I live in a forest here
and there have been times when I couldn't even see across the canyon, less
than 1/4 mile. It's no fun. If you're lucky, maybe you'll get a good rain.
I love Idaho. When I was young I used to go rafting down the Middle Fork of
the Salmon. Did I ever tell you about a friend of mine who stopped in to
some government office there someplace, I don't remember exactly where. He
asked the person at the counter how much a building permit costs. The
person replied something like: "Building permit??? What business is it of
ours what you do on your own property? We don't issue building permits."
Ahh... my kind of place! Lucky you, Ken.

Actually, where I live, the local governments think your business is their
business. It is raining right now but I don't know if it will rain enough
to seriously threaten the fires.

addendum: should not have said that I have "no experience" with the MM as I
did own one for 3 months (later sold to our departed but not forgotten
friend Richard F.). I did not own it long enough to have any issues with
the burr set, however.

I don't think it's a deliberate attempt to forge your name Robert, just
an unfortunate similitude as far as your names go. If Mr. Hermon were
trying to forge your posts, he'd add your sig lines. Additionally,
he's posted a few times in here since July, and his posts are just
run-of-the-mill stuff.

The two Harmons show different "reply to" addresses, post from different

even trying to disguise his address if he really wanted to spoof the pouty

You would be shocked and amazed, but two degrees can be easily
discerned in the cup if you are using decent coffee. If your technique
is good, even one degree can make a difference. OTOH, if you are using
the "espresso roast," nearly-burnt stuff that is passed off on the
public as fit for espresso it probably wouldn't matter much.

Think about all the posts here from adopters of PID'd machines- there
has never been one that regretted it.

Actually this is all quite in character for mr. harmon. and NO WAY to

ok, let me ask you the question that hundreds of thousands are dying to have
answered:

Did you graduate from Jr. High School, or did you drop out? Would you be

Well, one can draw certain inferences from this post. The individual
posting it appears, most probably to be the same one who posted as "Robert
Hermon" earlier, being as he responded in tune to a post made to said Mr.
"Hermon." He also appears to be quite careless about which name he posts
under at a given time; it is, afterall, hard to keep 30 or more fake names
straight.

All of this points to this individual being the person who posts here under
multiple fake names and uses these names to hide behind to attack people who
have the balls to post under their own names, or at least one consistent
posting name. Ergo, this identity and "Robert Hermon" presumably belong to
"RoqueJa" and his multiple other fake names.

Apologies to Robert Harmon, in spite of his rather crass behavior recently.

If you are updating your killfile, the posting name on this post and Robert
Hermon should probably be added to it.

Wow! You're quite the detective.

Woops! I'll take that back. A good detective never presumes anything without
hard facts.

Robert,

He's not irritable. Just terribly, terribly tense.

Maybe he should try decaf. <shudder >

Vernon (the repentant watermelon thumper)
