First off, I've been skulking the site for quite some time now and feel that I need to contribute something. What that is I'm not entirely sure. Do I have any newbie questions? No, I feel that what has been covered thus far has been very helpful in my own progress towards the ultimate ends. I salute you all for your contributions towards the ends that I have found. Randy, I have found your site most useful in my endevor with Silvia and home roasting, unfortunatunatly I have postponed a hottop purchase. In the near future prehaps, but I'll wait til after X-mas anyway, hoping someone will love me enough. I feel a need to warn folks about the 58 mm tamper from espressoparts.com. I ordered several things from them and this was the only part I have to complain about. Does it fit the Silvia PF? No, several mm to small. The Lava Tamp leaves much to be desired. Like fitting the PF. Maybe the rest of you folk have had better experience with this and maybe if I had called them on this problem it could have been fixed. I might try an e-mail now...Good luck all.

Strange, the lava tamper fits my Gaggia PF just fine, which is supposed to be the same size.
