Subject: Plastic taste from a new coffee maker

OK, we got a new coffee maker (Presto) and we love it except for the
plastic taste we're getting with. I've run two half pots of vinegar
through it and we've done about 3 pots of coffee but still that plastic
taste. Has anyone come up with a solution to get rid of this plastic
taste?

Thanks

At this point, I'd get a REFUND.

plastic taste = plastic chemicals in the end product. -- not a good
thing.

A neighbor bought one of these & had the same problem. Rather than vinegar
use baking soda (much better known for it's odor fighting abilities). What
kind of filter are you using. Some of the Melitta clones have a chemical
taste. I now use the ones sold at Costco. BTW, vinegar is best used to
flavor your chips mate, to clean your coffee maker of mineral scale use
citric acid.
