So after you responded to one of my posts emphasizing fresh is best, I
looked sround online ended up on coffee review and then ended up
ordering some coffee from Paradise Roasters. I decided to try the S.O.
espresso they had reviewed, I cna't remember the name but it's the
Robusta from India. Holy crap. I've never tried robusta for one, or a
single bean espresso. I figured what's the harm and ordered it. So I
got it last night when I got home and today I made my first pours with
it and my god, I've never seen crema come out of a machine like this
before. I know this is old news to you guys who roast at home but it's
new and fascinating for me and the people I work with and my wife are
getting sick of listening to me, so I have to turn to the internet.
Besides all that, the coffee is really interesting and if you havn't
tried it I would recommend it. It's lighter bodied espresso with a cool
winey-chocolatey-fruitiness to it and it lingers just right.
Oh, and as evil and wrong as this may be to everyone, it mixes great
with chocolate muscle milk for a super-breakfast.

And for the cyclists, I put a way too big gear on my fixie and thought
I was going to have to walk my bike accross the bridge.
I blame the coffee.

I think with so many folks here being home roasters or having regular
access to local roasters we sometimes overlook the importance of
fresh- at least to say it is easy to take it for granted. From the
very beginning nearly 6 years ago I have been home roasting and so am
somewhat spoiled. On the other hand , I have never forgotten the
importance of fresh and try to share that with as many people as
possible. AAMOF, I am roasting a batch of espresso this AM since my PT
says his wife makes espresso.

I miss my track bike, but where I live it would be a wall decoration.
This is mtn. bike country. I still ride my Fat Chance that I bought
the year before index shifting came out! It was updated the next year
though. Still has rat-trap pedals on it with toe clips and straps! My
Trek 770 still has the same and I ride with cleats!
