Price is up to $130, other colors available. Street price is usually more like $200 than $300 (in fact the street prices range all the way from $199 to $200 (some 199.49, 199.95, 199.99) . Looks like Kitchenaid has been pretty effective in maintaining MAP, so this is your big chance. Most reports say OK for drip, not ideal for espresso (fineness of adjustment and ease of use issues). Coffeegeek is down for a change. <lacpastor@gmail.com > wrote in message news:1161004712.100315.136090@h48g2000cwc.googlegroups.com... > Just in case this helps anyone... > > Amazon.com Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid Pro Line Burr Coffee > Grinder, Empire Red for $104.99 + Free Shipping (List Price: $299.99) > > Happy Coffee! > > Karl >

Haven't you heard, no one cares if the geek is up or down. I've heard mixed opinions about the Pro Line products. I got a fellow church member hooked on espresso drinks & against my recommendations he bought the Pro Line espresso set. I've taken them for a test drive so to speak & didn't find anything that justified the price (neraly $1000 for both). Plus I'm leary of the use of thermoblocks in any form or fashion. I thought the Kitchenaid dual boiler machine was not a thermoblock but two Gaggia boilers in one case. R U sure about the 'blocks? In article <deWdnYZohoMSLa7YnZ2dnUVZ_v6dnZ2d@comcast.com >, nunuvyer@netscape.net says... > I thought the Kitchenaid dual boiler machine was not a thermoblock but two > Gaggia boilers in one case. R U sure about the 'blocks? It *is* two Gaggia boilers. Reports are that the steam boiler is smaller, but I can't say how much. Might have been a precursor of the design being used in the Baby Twin, which I'm informed also isn't a thermoblock, but just a very small steam boiler. Mike
