I recently negotiated a discount for a group buy for www.greencoffeebuyingclub.com. The group buy was for Newco 40oz and 60oz Drip coffee brewers which are SCAA approved. Anyways after I spoke about them in another thread regarding Presto Scandinavians I figured I would pass on the wholesale price I was able to get for us to my alt.coffee brothers and sisters. For example the 40oz brewers are $69.00 plus shipping and the automatic plumbed in model is $112.00 plus shipping. They retail for much more. you can get this deal by calling or emailing: Joann Nemetz (800) 325-7867 Extension 3303 joann@newcocoffee.com Our customers ID is "greencoffe" Joe www.greencoffeebuyingclub.com

Merry Christmas to you and your family too Craig. I was a litle worried that it might cause problems for retailers or that I might be breaking some obscure rule, but after talking with Joann and recieved clearance from her, I felt comfortable posting. There aren't many retailers that carry the Newco OCS series brewers which are intended for light Office/Home use. Anyways I'll post again when I recieve it and try it out for a few days. They only had around 20 left of the nonauto 8 cup models, before they had to order more from overseas. I know our group had some varied orders so I'm not sure how many are even left. They did say they had more of the auto/plumbed in models which are more expensive and they had more of the larger 64oz models also. Regardless our discount applies. Joe www.greencoffeebuyingclub.com

Well, here's my thanks. Thanks. I haven't owned a drip for long time and been meaning to. I ordered the 40 oz. I also ordered two extra carafs @ 8.95 ea. Allows me to make a full small pot or double up plus a decaf for guests. I am not a member so I wouldn't know for sure but most people I've talked to that are members really have to spend some cash to justify their membership. I could see how my heading might be confusing so I'll edit it. The group discount is for our Green coffee buying club. But since the discount is attached to our customer ID anyone can use it and recieve the brewer for a big discount off retail. There are only two Drip brewers that I am aware of that have the SCAA Approved stamp on them; the Technivorm- retail $200, and the Newco OCS8 retail- $100, someone correct me if I'm mistaken here. I have used a technivorm several times from a freind and while its a nice coffee maker I wouldn't say it's $200 nice. But as I explained to my freind Chris I spent around $1000+ for my espresso setup and I definately use my drip coffee more frequently(everyday). So maybe $69+shipping isn't such a major expense for something I use everyday. The Technivorm has recieved a lot of publicity for home users while Newco seems to be focused on their commercial line of brewers, there is only one retailer I could find that even carries the OCS series brewers. I usually try and avoid coffee equipment that seems like it might be on its way out the door but Newco has been very receptive to all my calls and the PDF file shows that you can order parts individually which is something I haven't seen from many drip brewers, besides commercial units. Anyways we should be getting our orders in the next couple days. Joe www.greencoffeebuyingclub.com

I'll chime in: sounds like a good deal, though I am not aware of anything made by Newco. Not sure if it's me keeping my head under a rock, or lack of word- of-mouth, or what. The plumbed in model looks interesting to me. It would look good in the new kitchen, next to Andreja. Not having much luck finding a lot of reviews or pictures, a little help there? What other specials are there for SCAA members? - I joined this summer, and really wonder why I did, as I see no real benefits. Todd94590 chimes: > I am not aware of anything made by Newco. Not sure if it's > me keeping my head under a rock, or lack of word-of-mouth, > or what. It's just a reflection of the pecking order in the OCS market. Everyone's heard of Bunn, probably Grindmaster too. But then there's Bloomfield, Cecilware, Fetco, Newco, etc. I have some Newco warmers that I want to modify by replacing their power switches with ones salvaged from an old electric range. Yet another stalled project ... All the commercial grade stuff I've seen is very sturdy. I doubt you'll regret your purchase. Felix

Also the Canadian company Cafe 98 which was the first to recieve the recognition of a brewer that met the (then) SCAA specs for coffee brewers. NewCo handles the Cafe 98 in the US. I have several Cafe 98 brewers, several NewCo brewers and half a dozen large to huge Fetcos. All can do a great brew if you know the machine. The Newco we have on a cart at a hospital accepts a 5 gallon jug of water from our in-store water system like a water cooler. Sort of odd looking at first, but customers recognize that you aren't just dumping in tap water. Bernie

Thanks for the info. I sent an email to Joann, wanting more info on the 60 oz. plumbed-in machine. Credit card is being charged up quite a bit this month, but if it's a worthy purchase, a little more won't really make a difference, as it will take until March for my balance to be down to the zero mark again (just in time to pay taxes in April, lucky me). We received a decent Bunn machine for a wedding gift, about 2 1/2 years ago, and it has performed nicely, but a plumbed-in machine is worth its weight around here; just as the automatic ice maker is. So the cabinets are in, and should be installed by the end of the day tomorrow. Next step is to make a pattern for the countertop. Until the counters are in, we'll use whatever panel wood is around for a horizontal surface. to hold the coffee paraphenalia. :) Todd JoeP wrote: > Todd94590 wrote: > > I'll chime in: sounds like a good deal, though I am not aware of > > anything made > > by Newco. Okay we have started to recieve our brewers and the initial testing results say these are pretty impressive brewers. You can see the pictures and comments from the people who have them here: http://www.greencoffeebuyingclub.com/index.php?topic=1298.0 Joe www.greencoffeebuyingclub.com
