Saeco Renaissance XX for $74.99 thru July 31, 2006. S&H is included in the
price. This is almost half what the "popular" online stores have this for. I
got one for fathers day & it works great. Water temp is fine; the only
problems/dislikes - uses the Mr. Coffee type filter & I prefer the Mellita
type, It's only a 10-cup machine. But it does have a thermal carafe which
the Mellita Clarity in the ol' bus doesn't have.

It is a "blowout" of discontinued goods.

Jack:

I owned one of these for about 3 months -- We despised it! -- peddled
it on ebay for about a $80 loss.

It was IMPOSSIBLE TO FILL without running water down the sides. NO way
to tell how much water is in the carafe OR the water tank -- NO marks.

the plastic bail used to lift out the FLAT BOTTOM filter holder gets in
the way when you invert the plastic basket to dump the grounds

The carafe dribbled coffee if poured at any normal rate.
Made in China
the blue light was nice.

NO insult intended to harmon, but PLEASE do not but this piece 'o'
Crap!
(Mehtinks Saeco is killing it off)
we got the B&D -- $35.00

Other than the stainless skin, why is this better than a $30 delonghi or
B&D?

When I measured the brew water as it entered the filter the temp was 198F.
This compares favorably with the Clarity & other highly rated coffee makers.
Besides, I'm a holder of Costco stock, and at half price it's a good deal
