Plastic job, 40ish model series, found on ebay for $60 (retails on Amazon for $200). Picked up a Mr. Coffee one/two-shot steamer at Walmart in the middle of one night a couple months ago, got bugged and "updated," so here I am. Yesterday, ordered my first 10lb batch of Costa Rican (volcanic chocolate) and Kenyian AA (motherload fruity) from a online New Jersey outfit, www dot coffeebeandirect. Honest, I didn't intend for this to happen. Delonghi was from a furniture outfit, sold new topnotch factory refurbished, as received with a broken steam routing hose and hot water pouring out of the upper assembly head. Fixed pronto. Spent half last night with a longass cut length of 1/4" refrigerator icemaker copper tubbing, "modifying" a former chrome steampipe outlet after I broke the sucker. Used a file and tap and die kit to rethread the copper endtube for the plastic Delonghi wand attachment and snug fits. Nice, stretches out to oldworld-style China now. Cut a surrounding plastic body from cone about halfway up to allow the nozzle freer play skimming. I was trying to free-wand up bunches of latte. I guess I really, really didn't like the Delonghi wand attachment assembly. And, yes, I like coffee with mounds and mounds of aereated, frothy whole milk. Getting there or somewhere considering the timeframe. My former life with restraunt coffee and waitresses has is turning upside down. Was just complaining about what seem comparitively an odd tasting coffee last week, in passing - when the waitresses practically yelled at me - "Espresso!, that's something -entirely- different!" Oh, yea - Krups burr grinder, German make, with settings from a subpar French grind all the way to talcum infinity, when once the Turks gave Greeks WW2 leftovers. You really have to like minutely ground coffee to like a $30 Krups. What I understand, is this Delonghi coffee ground filter cup has some sort of Delonghi invention in it, perhaps a hidden plastic filler, for building up a retainer of pump bar/pressure, supposed to drive a creme frothier. Wondering if I had the old style coffee-grinds receptor cup and a heavyduty tamper what might results be - whether the Delonghi's "aereator" inclusion they're marketing this unit for is likely in any way to be impeded by circumventing its design intention with a conventional grinds filtercup. I notice alongside the upperside tank assembly, on the body, there a cavity to hold what looks to be singleshot grindscup. Also, see the support mechanism beneath, underneath and directly attached the filter grindscup - the one that sort of screws out? Any idea what's that is all about?

It's a Focus - last of what's left of Omnikey and precision. I've also got a couple Lincolns out in the garage. That and some JB Weld helps immensely. I'm reading/replying online and the wrap is OK from Google's end - try switching or configuring your mailreader.

BTW what is your approx weekly consumption in lbs, including visitors and family etc?? Bertie
