I'm getting desperate to find an ordinary, dependable city roast of a
quality coffee, Ethiopian by preference. I live in Los Angeles and
would appreciate any tips by more experienced coffee connoisseurs.

Coffee Klatch is in San Dimas. Supreme Bean is in North Hollywood. You
can't go wrong with either.

I should have added that, although it wasn't included in Ken David's
review, Groundwork in L.A. has some spectacular Sidamo.

Thanks for the tips. I live near Larchmont, where the two predominant
chains (Peets and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) are across the street from
each other -- and there is nothing else at all. Oh, there's a
Starbucks, but I was talking about, you know, _coffee_...
