I'm thinking about purchasing this coffee maker but I only brew 2 cups per day. It says 10 cups, by some euro standard. How many American 8 oz cups is that? Will it do a good job of brewing just 16 oz for me? That's all I really want to know.

They very well may not. > > Will it do a good job of brewing just 16 oz for me? That's all I really > want to know. Yes. I've tasted my regular (freshly ground from fresh beans) coffee brewed in a friend's Technivorm. It was very good, an impressive machine. You'll like it if the expense doesn't freak you out. However, I'd suggest the model with the vacuum carafe: coffee kept warm in a pot turns to crap VERY quickly. -- Cordially, Serge Dasara 10/8/2006 2:51:39 PM

I can testify that it does a good job making 24 oz. at a time (two good-sized mugfulls). That's what it produces when water is added to the 6-cup mark on the reservoir. So apparently a cup by Technivorm standards is about 4 oz. It has a control on the basket which lets the coffee flow out of the basket fast, slowly, or not at all - for making 16 oz. you'd probably get the best results at the intermediate setting.
