Subject: Tips on how to use the Ellimatic for consistant shots

I have a Nuova Simonelli Ellimatic bought in about 1990. I used it back
then absolutely without any notion of how to get a good shot. I did=B4nt
even have a grinder.

Now after it had been stored for about 10 years i took it out and it
works very well. I have cleaned it and also bought a grinder. I get
very good result with much crema and 25 sec. shot time with the right
tamp and grind.

My problem is that i want to get a constant situation for all my shots.
The right grind, tamp and the right temp on the machine. Now i am not
on top of the machine bit. It seems to get a bit too hot.

My technique now is to flush out some water for about 5 secs. and then
wait for the temp lamp to go out. Directly after that i make the shot.
I get as i said quite good results but i am eager to hear from other
owners of the Elli if they use some technique that works good.

I will keep the machine at my summer house, it is almost as new and
looks that way under the hood to. I almost have not used it at all for
around 15 years up until now.
