Subject: Used machines?

Hi all,
Does anyone have a used espresso machine and/or grinder that is in need
of some TLC that could be purchased at a reasonable price? I would
like to have something commercial grade at home so I can learn about
the commercial machines by fixing one up. I also would like to pull
apart a super-auto and figure out the internal workings for one of
those. My local roaster/supplier has a few in their "boneyard," but
they are too busy right now to figure out how much they want to sell
their old stuff for....so if you have something just collecting dust
that you havent been able to get around to fixing yet, please let me
know!

What's reasonable in price? I have a 2 group Unic Diva my wife wants me to
get rid of. Needs one controller ($80) but is clean and well kept (240
volts). Comes with 3 pf, 2 triple baskets, 2 double baskets, 1 single, a
Reg Barber convex tamper, and a couple of blind filters. This beast weighs
in at over 100 lbs so shipping isn't inexpensive...... and all you'd have
to do is get a new controller or have the one that doesn't work, fixed!

I really think if you can find a used commercial machine, especially a
one group, you are way ahead of folks buying these "prosumer" models.
I have a Faema Compact in my kitchen that I purchased for less than
$200. I spent another $250 or so getting it in perfect working order
and had a chance to learn a lot about the machine in the process. I
now have a machine that produces exceptional espresso, will steam milk
all day if I so desire and will last forever. If it should break
parts are easily available. Down side, it's big and it's not shiny
stainless.

I've got a "Barista" [Starbucks] espresso machine that I'll let go. I
recently replaced it with a Miss Sylvia. See
